United In Song

July 5-10, 2018 | DUBLIN, IRELAND

Join the Cincinnati Children’s Choir and ensembles from across the U.S. and Ireland under the direction of Robyn Lana for “United in Song” at Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland. Celebrating the unifying effect of choral singing and its impact on our youth and our world, this event is sure to demonstrate the power of music and its potential to influence people’s lives. The charming university town of Maynooth will be our home for 4 nights. With a growing reputation as an ideal rehearsal and performance base for visiting choir groups, the University offers a wide variety of student accommodation including a select number of rooms in neo-gothic and Georgian settings. Collaborating with an Irish Choir-in-Residence, participating ensembles will have the opportunity to deepen international friendships, explore the fascinating culture and customs of Ireland and celebrate the future by lifting their voices in unison.


Viva la Amistad Choral Festival

July 2-7, 2018 | CUBA

Be a part of history and perform during the first amistad (friendship) choral festival in Cuba. Perform side-by-side with Cuban and American singers under the inspired direction of Dr. Tim Sharp and Digna Guerra, Director of the National Choir of Cuba. Learn to dance Salsa with Cuban dancers, attend a demonstration on afro-Cuban rhythms in Matanzas and explore the rich history of Cuba during a visit to the Museum of the Revolution and a sightseeing convoy of 1950s classic cars through the winding streets of Havana. The highlight will be a Gala Concert Performance in Havana co-conducted by Dr. Sharp and Digna Guerra. Additional performance opportunities are possible in Matanzas and Havana for balanced choirs.


Great Basilicas of Italy

July 1-6, 2018 | ASSISI & ROME, ITALY

“Great Basilicas of Italy” celebrates the artistic heritage of two of Italy’s most important churches. A Gala Concert Performance at the Basilica of San Francis of Assisi and participation in Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican will be a life-changing experience for singers from across the United States. Under the inspired leadership of Artistic Director Tesfa Wondemagegnehu the mixed festival choir will perform repertoire that is significant to each of these wonderful concert spaces. Assisi is a small town filled with rich culture, history, and charm which will inspire all choristers to perform at their highest level.


Choral Odyssey

June 28-July 3, 2018 | THESSALONIKI, GREECE

Treble and mixed choirs from across the USA and Canada are invited to join together in Thessaloniki, Greece for a unique choral event featuring a blend of repertoire from both North America and Greece. Under the inspired leadership of Emily Ellsworth, ensembles will have an opportunity for a community service project as well as plenty of time to visit the sights of this ancient port city with its fascinating Byzantine monuments. Culminating in an exciting festival of International song, this choral event is sure to excite the hearts and minds of all that participate.

El Alma de España

June 25-30, 2018 | BARCELONA, SPAIN

El Alma de España presents a unique opportunity to perform a newly commissioned choral work by the acclaimed composer Jake Runestad, under the inspired leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Miguel Felipe, and in one of Spain’s most wonderful concert spaces. As Composer-in-Residence, Jake Runestad will take part in the 5-day festival experience, providing personal insights into his new composition and supporting Artistic Director Miguel Felipe in its interpretation. El Alma de España will challenge and engage the hearts and minds of every participant and create profound memories to last a lifetime.


A Cappella Abroad

June 18-23, 2018 | PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

Peter Christian Lutkin, dean of the Northwestern University School of Music, helped popularize a cappella music in the United States by founding the Northwestern A Cappella Choir in 1906. It was the first permanent organization of its kind in America. More recently, a cappella music was popularized by media hits such as the TV show The Sing-Off, the musical Perfect Harmony, and the musical comedy film series Pitch Perfect. The A Cappella Abroad choral event in Prague is dedicated to celebrate a cappella choral music and give ensembles the opportunity to perform traditional and modern compositions to an appreciative audience of music lovers. The Gala Concert allows for spotlight performances by select individual ensembles. Additionally, the combined Festival Chorus will rehearse and perform a cappella repertoire under the inspired direction of Dr. Ryan Beeken.


Baltic Sings!

June 12-17, 2018 | TALLINN, ESTONIA

In a custom designed festival experience, mixed choirs will have the opportunity to partake in two concert events in Tallinn. A spotlight performance will allow each balanced ensemble to present a sample of their own program. The Gala Concert will bring all participating choirs together to sing a joint choir program with a professional orchestra under the direction of esteemed conductor Dr. Jeffrey Benson. This diverse 4 day residency program includes a community service project and will allow ample time for choristers to learn about the history and significance of music in Estonia and deepen their understanding of the “Singing Revolution.”


¡Olé, Cantemos en Madrid!

June 10-14, 2018 | MADRID, SPAIN

The ¡Olé, Cantemos en Madrid! choral event is focused on performing music primarily by contemporary as well as historic composers from Spain and Latin America. Dr. Angel M. Vázquez-Ramos is selecting an eclectic repertoire of songs that connect with the traditions of Spain and the influence that Spanish composers had on the development of Latin American music. ¡Olé, Cantemos en Madrid! is a total immersion experience into Spanish culture from music to architecture, history, food and language.


Limerick Sings 2018

June 5-10, 2018 | LIMERICK, IRELAND

Limerick Sings hosts both Irish and International choirs for three days of non-competitive music and song. Participating in this unique event will give choirs the opportunity to present Informal Performances in various venues across Limerick City such as Redemptorist Church, and take part in a Gala Concert Performance with a Professional Irish Orchestra at the University of Limerick Concert Hall under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Redding. The program also includes plenty of time to Exchange with Irish and European Choristers and a fun welcome BBQ that will include Irish Music, dance and food.


North American Composers Tour of South Korea


Presenting Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” and the South Korean premier of Dr. Paul A. Aitken’s “And None Shall Be Afraid,” this exciting opportunity will allow for mixed ensembles to travel through Korea and perform under the direction of Dr. Tim Sharp and Dr. Paul A. Aitken at spectacular church venues in Busan and Seoul. Collaborating with a local choir and South Korean chamber orchestra, you’ll experience the diverse culture of South Korea and learn about the rich history of not only this country but their strong traditions in choral music. This unique program also includes participation in a worship service at one of the largest South Korean Churches.
